The following is a summary of the 2021 season for Bintree Bowls Club.

The club played a total of 66 games in various league and cup competitions.

Elmham League Division 1

We played 16 league games, winning 12 and finishing level with Elmham Institute at the top of the table with 107 points. We won the league by having a better shot difference of +2.  Bintree, in their history, had won this competition 3 times before.  In 1949, 1951 and 1967, the last time 54 years ago.

Cawston League

We played 18 league games, winning 8 and finishing 5th in the table out of 10 teams.  Our previous best finish in this tough league was 2nd bottom in 2019.

Age UK League

We played 10 league games, winning 7 and just failed to qualify for Finals Day by finishing 2nd in the league table by a mere 2 points.

Hempton League

We played 12 league games, winning 5 and finishing 4th bottom. In 2019, we finished 3rd bottom so we’re on the way up !!

Cup Games

We reached the semi finals of two cup competitions, the Age UK and the Grange Cup, playing 7 games and winning 5.  Unfortunately we were knocked out in the first rounds of the Elmham and Cawston Cups.

Club Captains

Congratulations must be given to all our club captains for their tough tasks in sharing games around and attempting to put winning teams out on the green.  Well done to Pat Alden (Elmham), Dave Beresford (Cawston), Marion Tombling (Age UK) and Colin Harris (Hempton) !!!!
